Thursday, 13 July KS2 Instrumental Festival featuring YMTO
St Andrew's Church, Cheam SM2 7HF

Our annual KS2 Instrumental Festival is aimed at children who participate in our 'First Access' Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET) programmes. Over 2700 children across 22 local schools and academies gain their first experience of learning to play a musical instrument in this way. For many years, we have celebrated their achievements in an annual concert at Fairfield Halls, Croydon. With Fairfield Halls now closed for refurbishment, and more children than ever before involved in WCET programmes, we’ve had to think differently about how we approach this event.

This year, our KS2 Instrumental Festival will take place across five evenings at St Andrew's Church, Cheam, with children from schools and academies that participate in WCET programmes performing alongside young musicians from Sutton Music Service ensembles and our specialist instrumental teachers.

Thursday's concert will feature Young Musicians Training Orchestra (YMTO) along with pupils from St Mary's RC Junior, Harris Junior Academy Carshalton and Muschamp Primary.
