WCET 'Continuing your musical journey'

Over the last year, 2800 children across 22 local schools have learnt to play a guitar, woodwind, brass, string or percussion instrument as part of our 'First Access' Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET) programme. Now that these children are coming to the end of their initial year of free tuition, we would like to make sure that they, and their parents, have the information they need to make an informed choice about taking their learning further.

We've put together a handout for parents covering all of the information they need, including the benefits of learning to play a musical instrument, the costs involved and the opportunities that we can provide to take their playing to the next level. It also includes a fascinating case study with young viola and trumpet player, Tom Thornton, who himself started playing in a whole class setting.
